Review: UK Citrix User Group XI – Tune In, Geek Out

The Citrix UK User Group events hit the mid-tweens with an impressive view from swank surrounds on the south bank of the Thames thanks to the generous people at IBM.  Great wifi: happy days.

The Steering Group would like to thank all the presenters for their time, effort and engaging presentations. We thank the 3D-realtime attendees for providing interesting and useful questions and discussing challenges and ideas. The UK Citrix User Group believe in engaging the community to drive the best value for everyone, and with that in mind we continued our use of Go-To-Webinar to broadcast the event live. Waves and thanks to the 54 virtual attendees  who tuned-in and dropped-a-note/message/input/constructive critique – the more the merrier: with a virtual high-five back to @virtuEs_IT and @JarianGibson for waving back.

And of course, many thanks to our sponsors Atlantis Computing, Control Up, eg Innovations, IBM, Norskale and Nutanix for helping to make this our eleventh free to attend event: no matter where you are.

Bring your coals to Newcastle – next meeting 12th Nov

Join us on the 12th November at Castlegate in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Given the UK Citrix User group is about you – the users, administrators, installers, and architects of Citrix environments it is always great to hear about your experience, your understanding – what you like and what you don’t like, what you’d like to see more of and less of.

Our agenda includes a chance to meet and greet Stuart Moore, Citrix Senior Product Manager Desktop and Applications (DNA) and Simon McDermott Citrix Senior engineer who will be on hand to ask questions and talk you through the latest products. You’ll have a chance to comment on the latest news from Citrix, “moving to XenDesktop 7”, “Avalon, what’s in it for me”, plus notes from our sponsors.

We’ll be discussing the new citrix certifications. As a special bonus, we’ve had a chance to team up with the excellent people at XenAppTraining to give away as special prizes one free Lifetime membership to xenapptraining.com and 1 one year free access to appv5training.com. Special prizes indeed. Also, even if you don’t quite make it to final every attendee gets a $100 discount to their 1 year access.

As ever, if you’ve a suggestion for topics, or a topic to present please drop us a line or tweet us at @ukcitrixug

Will see you there this time.
